While Damania was the state convenor, Preeti was the state secretary. Both of them resigned claiming that they need to give more attention to their personal lives. However, both of them confirmed that they would continue to support the party.
In an official announcement of their decision of resigning from the posts, Preeti Sharma Menon said, "The last three years have been an amazing journey where many 'aam' folk discovered the country as well as our own selves through the India Against Corruption movement and then through AAP."
"However, every adventure ends and our adventure too ends here. Anjali and I have been battling between our family life, our careers and our party responsibilities. Both of us could not cope up with the multi-tasking that we had to do," Menon added while addressing a press conference in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Micro-blogging site Twitter has gone abuzz with the news that Anjali Damani resigned from the party post. #AnjaliDamania has been trending on Twitter since Tuesday night.
