New Delhi, July 1: A picture featuring Digvijay Singh and his girlfriend Amrita Rai once again made headlines. The photo, which had become viral when it was leaked online during Lok Sabha elections 2014, has recently been posted by New York Times.
The newspaper made one of its biggest blunders while posting the Congress leader's picture with Amrita Rai. The daily has made a report about #SelfieWithDaughter, a hash tag which was trending on Twitter following Narendra Modi's request to post pictures with daughters.
While selecting a few pictures from the micro-blogging site, the daily selected Digvijay's image which was shared by one Twitteratti as a joke. The person, who had posted the image on Twitter, wrote, "Okay Diggy raja mistook #SelfieWithDaughter for selfie with daughter-aged GF...ROFL."
However, New York Times did not understand the joke and selected the image and posted in one of its edition.
68-year-old Digvijay Singh had faced criticism when his picture with much younger Amrita Rai were exposed initially on social media. However, later it was reported that they would get married soon.
However, later it was reported that Digvijay Singh cancelled his plan to marry Amrita, a TV anchor working with the Rajya Sabha TV. His guru was reported to have refused to give blessing for his second marriage.
