SBI ATMs to dispense Rs20 notes soon, says Arundhati Bhattacharya
The ATMs of State Bank of India (SBI) will soon start dispensing Rs20 and Rs50 notes, this has been announced by the SBI chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya.
New Delhi, Nov 15: The ATMs of State Bank of India (SBI) will soon start dispensing Rs20 and Rs50 notes, this has been announced by the SBI chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya.
"We hope and are trying that we can sort this problem by end of November. And if the chaos subsides by then, then we will also start dispensing 50 and 20 rupee notes in coming days," she was quoted as saying by the ANI.
The decision has been taken to help public facing crisis after demonetisation of Rs500 and Rs1000 notes were announced by the Prime Minister on November 8.
The surprise step announced by PM forced people to rush to banks and ATMs for Rs 100 notes.
The latest move by the Centre is to bring down the flow of black money, a poll promise made by Modi during his campaign in 2014.
