Prisoner 9934 Sasikala seeks barrack next to Jaya's
There was absolute chaos out side the court as Sasikala arrived at the jail premises. The police had to resort to lathi charge to disperse the crowd.
Sasikala Natarajan is prisoner number 9934. She has been taken to jail and a prisoner number has also been allotted. Co-convict Ilavarasi has been allotted number 9935. Sasikala's number when she was lodged in jail after the trial court convicted her in 2015 was 7403. Jayalalithaa was given the number 7402.

Earlier Sasikala surrendered before the court in Bengaluru. The special court was set up in the premises of the central jail due to security reasons issued the order sending her to jail.
The proceedings began with the judge reading out the operative portion of the Supreme Court's verdict. Sasikala told the court that she wants the next barrack that her close aide Jayalalithaa was lodged in.

rejected
her
application
in
which
she
sought
time
to
surrender.
Sasikala's
husband
Natarajan
and
other
relatives
were
present
at
the
jail
premises
as
she
arrived.
Several
supporters
too
were
present.
However
there
were
more
police
and
media
personnel
when
compared
to
the
followers.
She
was
convicted
by
the
Supreme
Court
on
Tuesday
and
ordered
to
complete
her
sentence
of
four
years.
