Sarbananda Sonowal takes oath as Assam CM; PM Modi marks presence
Guwahati, May 24: Marking the history in a north-east state, BJP MLA Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday sworn in as Chief Minister of Assam.
To witness the history in making, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP veteran L K Advani and BJP president Amit Shah and Nitin Gadkari attended the swearing in ceremony. Former CM of the Assam from the Congress party, Tarun Gogoi made his presence.
J B Patnaik administered the oath. Along with Sonowal, other MLAs Hemanta Biswa Sharma, AGP president Atul Bora, Pramila Rani Brahma, Parimal Shukla Vaidya take oath as ministers.
Swearing in ceremony in Assam has turned out to be a show of strength of BJP with many of the cabinet ministers and leaders attending the function. nant Kumar, Kiren Rijiju, V K Singh, Rajasthan CM Vansundhara Raje, Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel, Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh, Parkash Singh Badal too present at the venue.
