Modi launches Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana
New Delhi, Oct 11: After successfully conducting Clean India Mission on October 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated his brain child Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana at New Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan. The scheme which aims at rural development was kicked off on the birth anniversary of veteran socialist icon Jaiprakash Narain, popularly known as JP.

Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana is yet another ambitious development scheme which is aimed at improving the people's standard of living through improved basic amenities in rural parts of the country.

The prime objectives behind launch of this ambitious scheme is to initiate a process of holistic development of the identified gram panchayats and to improve the standard of living and quality of life of all sections of the society.

The main thrust has to be given on basic amenities, higher productivity and enhanced human development.

Addressing the Members of Parliament the PM said, "We are 800 MPs and if an MP creates three model villages every year, this way will have developed around 2500 villages into a model village by 2019. If the states also launch a similar scheme for MLAs, then we will be able to make thousands of model villages and create a big change."

PM Modi appealed to every MP to take keen interest in this scheme and create an environment in villages so that each villager takes pride in his/her village.
