Bengaluru/Mangaluru, May 23: The man hunt of the police is still on to nab a prime accused Naresh Shenoy in connection to RTI activist Vinayak Baliga murder case, while an Additional District and Session Court of Mangaluru recently rejected his bail plea.
The Mangaluru cops so far failed to trace Naresh Shenoy to his hide out. But what is more worrying is, Naresh Shenoy and his team working hard to swing the case to their favour. According to sources, team Shenoy has been toiling to attribute the alleged Supari killing of Vinayak Baliga that took place in the wee hours of March 21 to an underworld don Vicky Shetty.
When OneIndia contacted close sources of Vicky Shetty, he said, "Shenoy wants to divert the route of the investigation by making the case appear as underworld elements killed Vinayak Baliga." And the reasons, Naresh found was builder lobby. Baliga had filed cases against a few builders in the coastal district.
Availing this loop, Naresh has resorted to subvert the case. A source said, Vicky Shetty has too learnt about this development and has expressed his unhappiness. For Shenoy, opting this strategy to put the blame of Vicky Shetty, a good one, as possibility of making media and general public to believe this story would be easy.
Shenoy, who is in hiding has been operating since 15 days to divert the case. As Vicky Shetty has been allegedly involved in the real estate mafia in Mangaluru, it would be easy to make it look like Shetty having links with the murder.
Naresh wants to change the narrative in the public domain to clear his dented image. Bringing forth builder lobby in the case, Shenoy is weaving fresh narrative- a club of builders gave supari (contract killing) to Vicky Shetty, following which, Shetty sent his men to slay Vinayak Baliga.
However, task is not so easy too. Displeased by the development, Vicky Shetty may resist this move and sources say that studying the moves of Naresh, Vicky would play his card to thwart Shenoy's efforts.
