He was lying a few metres away from bike. He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Vipin was assaulted barely a kilometre away from his residence. Lijesh, Vipin's co-accused in a murder case was assaulted last week and the attack on Vipin is suspected to be on similar grounds.

Vipin was an accused in the murder of Kodinji Faisal last year. Faisal, a resident of the same district was a Hindu who converted to Islam. Last year Faisal was dragged out of a vehicle and hacked to death by a gang. Vipin was made accused in the case and was arrested for Faisal's murder.

Vipin was granted bail recently and had walked out of prison. He was found murdered on Thursday morning. The police have not established if Vipin's murder is a continuation of political killings in Kerala. The motive is yet to be established.
