Investigations being conducted into the violence that erupted outside the Bengaluru central jail the day AIADMK interim general secretary Sasikala Natarajan surrendered has revealed that the incident was stage-managed. Police officers, who are part of the probe say that the rowdy-sheeter was paid off to create the violence. It may be recalled that on Wednesday when Sasikala arrived at Bengaluru, glasses of vehicles were broken and the police had to resort to a lathi-charge to disperse the mob. Some blamed the O Paneerselvam faction for the violence.
However, officials rule out political rivalry and say that the violence was staged to make out a case so that Sasikala is transferred out of the Bengaluru jail. The police is currently on the lookout for the rowdy-sheeter. The police had on the day of the violence arrested four persons and the name of the rowdy-sheeter had cropped up during their questioning.
The four persons told the police that they had no political leaning. They said that some person had paid them to damage vehicles and create violence as Sasikala entered the jail premises.
