New Delhi, Nov 2: Robert Vadra landed in a fresh controversy as he pushed away a journalist who asked him questions regarding land deal in Haryana. He lost his cool and Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law began facing criticism from all across the country.

Vadra was seen pushing a ANI reporter's mic away. Congress President's son-in-law was in an inaugural ceremony of a fitness centre at Ashoka Hotel in Delhi on Saturday, Nov 1.

The journalist posed a question regarding land deal and Vadra got furious. He asked, "Are you serious, are you serious? Put your camera off. Are you nuts?"

It also has been reported that Vadra's security personnels later assaulted the cameraman and reporter and threatened them that they will get the video deleted.

However, Vadra did not waste his time to clarify the situation as he issued a statement saying that he was unaware of the fact that the journalist was from ANI, a renowned news agency.

In the official statement, Vadra claimed, "I thought the question was asked by a private photographer." Despite his statement, Vadra faced ire of BJP leaders.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra was quoted as saying, "I'm shocked the way he reacted to the question asked by the journalist. He should apologise to both nation and media. If he was uncomfortable in replying to the question, he should have simply said 'no comments'."

Vadra's hostile response to the question comes days after BJP's leader Anil Vij had said that Haryana's new government will investigate all controversial land deals.

Following new Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar's swearing-in ceremony in Haryana, the BJP leader had said, "We will inquire into all land scams including the one involving Vadra land deal. Sitting Judge will probe the case."

He further added, "We will also see whether the law was violated in acquiring land for different projects during (the previous) Hooda government."

"We will get every inch of this land scam probed. Anyone found guilty in that, whether any official, Robert Vadra or Bhupinder Singh Hooda, we will not spare anyone," Vij added.
