Right to Privacy verdict could overrule beef ban
Apart from this it would have a bearing on the Aadhaar case which is being heard by a five judge Bench of the Supreme Court.
The Right to Privacy verdict is expected to have a bearing on a lot of cases. It would not just have a bearing on Aadhaar, but also on beef ban as well. The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered a historic judgment in which it declared Right to Privacy as a fundamental right.
The impact on the beef ban would also be seen as a result of this verdict delivered by a Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court. While beef ban is imposed under the existing laws, a person could still approach court complaining that the ban violates his right to privacy and choice of food.

As a result of this verdict the decision to impose a beef ban in states will also come up for review. Justice J Chelameswar in his personal conclusion had said, "I do not think that anybody would like to be told by the State as to what they should eat or how they should dress or whom they should be associated with either in their personal, social or political life."
Apart from this it would have a bearing on the Aadhaar case which is being heard by a five judge Bench of the Supreme Court. While experts say that Aadhaar will stay, they add that it would have far more guidelines.
