Rahul Gandhi may get married soon: Reports
New Delhi, July 4: As Modi government saw an expansion in its cabinet with the induction of 19 new faces on Tuesday, July 5, there were reports that the Congress scion and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi may be getting married soon.
Speculations were rife that 46-year-old Rahul may tie the knot sometime in August this year, with a girl-hailing from Brahmin family, based in Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh.
The unconfirmed rumour began when Sagarika Ghose, a leading journalist tweeted on the micro-blogging site Twitter saying, "Exciting unconfirmed rumour heard just now: are we about to get a Mrs @OfficeOfRG? Apparently a stunning well educated lady from UP :)
The information was further fuelled when the BJP Leader and the Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy tweeted, "Heard from "Sources": for UP election Buddhu may marry a UP Brahmin girl soon. One more desperate stunt?"

Sahara Samay reported that in June this year, Sonia Gandhi visited Anand Bhawan to discuss about her son's impending marriage.
The girl's family is said to be very close relative of one of late Rajeev Gandhi's officer, the report further stated.
Reports of Rahul Gandhi getting hitched to a Uttar Pradesh-based girl comes in the backdrop of upcoming assembly elections in the state next year.
As the Congress faced a humiliating defeat in 2014 Lok Sabha elections and a debacle in other states, this time the party is in no mood to take any chance, as Uttar Pradesh is a politically significant state and a defeat here can cost it more than it can afford.
It has already started campaigning in the poll-bound state, with Priyanka Gandhi as its chief campaigner. She is likely to address 150 rallies in the hindi hinterland.
At the same time, reports are also doing the rounds from last few months that Rahul Gandhi may be soon elevated as the party's president.
As rumuors about one of the most eligible bachelors of India went viral, Twitteratti had a field day. Here are some tweets:
