Bengaluru, Feb 2: The RSS man, Dr Prabhakar Bhat who is generally believed as influential and often controversial exclusively says the call generated between Shyama Shastri and him was not the last call and Bhat admitted during the CID (Criminal Investigation Department) interrogation that voice in the phone call was his.

Shyama Shastri, brother of business man Diwakar Shastri allegedly committed suicide on Aug 31, 2014 in the afternoon hours at his house in Kedila, Puttur of Dakshina Kannada district. He was about to leave to Ramachandrapura Mutt to meet the pontiff in fix.

Shastri allegedly shot himself with a licenced firearm after Diwakar Shastri's wife Premalatha Diwakar slapped rape case against the popular Havyaka pontiff Raghaveshwara Bharati of Ramachandrapura Mutt.

The contentious element doing rounds in the media was that after RSS Kshetreeya Karyakarini Sadasya, Dr Prabhakar Bhat telephoned to Shyama over the case, he took life. The call currently is in the dock, with CID officials summoning Bhat for the enquiry over the alleged suicide case.

Bhat says it was Shyama who called me

Bhat, popularly known as Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat who rarely appears in media agreed exclusively to speak to OneIndia over phone.

"No.. no.. no.., I did not call him (Shyama Shastri) up. Details on this are with the CID. In fact I never called him. Shyama only called me," Bhat divulged.

This fact is authentically documented by the investigating body and that news of last call was a canard spread by some people. "Shyama Shastri spoke to me over visiting Ramachandrapura Mutt. You have to get these details from genuine sources," Bhat said.

When asked was Bhat's call the last call to Shastri, he said, it was not the last call. "After me and Shyama Shastri spoke over the phone, he had lunch. Later, he received another call after which Shastri cried and smashed the mobile to wall in utmost distress," Bhat added.

He further continued saying Shastri's brother-in-law was present during the incident. Brother-in-law picked up the damaged phone and left the room to reassemble the phone. "It was then wife of Shastri and brother-in-law heard the gun shot."

Bhat recalled Shastri called him earlier, a few days before to fix an appointment with Raghaveshwara seer in order to deliberate over the case.

Following this "I spoke to the PA of the seer in this connection. The seer had agreed to hold conversation with Shyama Shastri due to which he was leaving to Mutt on Aug 31, 2014," Bhat disclosed.

On Aug 31, Shastri phoned to express difficulty in going to Mutt as his brother-in-law faced a small problem seeking to reschedule the meeting. However, Bhat said, he insisted Shastri to visit on the same day as the appointment was fixed already.

Bhat suspected that someone had called Shastri after his call, may be his brother compelling him not to visit the Mutt.

The full text of the conversation is with the CID. "I have read the full script during voice test. There are no evidences to show, I have threatened Shastri." It was this which was recently came up in the media, Bhat observed.

Bhat also made a point that he did admit with the sleuths that the voice was his but the call was generated from the other end.

"I have categorically told the SP of the Dakshina Kannada, Inspector of the local police station to thoroughly investigate on who was last person to call Shyama Shastri," Bhat informed.

Bhat pointed that Shastri did not call him through his number, but Shastri called from his wife's number. "I have his number. It was not Shastri's number that was displayed on my mobile screen."

This has to be investigated. Besides Bhat said he has no time to involve in Raghaveshwara Bharati's case. "It is unnecessary for me to involve in the squabble between Bharati and Shastri family. I do not want recognise with any party in this case. I have no interests in this case." Bhat clarified.
