Bengaluru, Aug 31: The youth who sparked a controversy on his Twitter account after the killing of Professor M M Kalburgi has been arrested in Buntwal, near Mangalore on Monday.
The police had launched a manhunt for Bhuvith Shetty after he had posted a controversial remark on his Twitter account following the murder of Professor Kalburgi.
Professor Kalburgi was shot dead at his residence yesterday in Dharwad by two unidentified persons who came on a motor cycle.
After the murder, Shetty, while justifying the murder had also issued a warning to another scholar, K S Bhagwan and had stated, " you are next." [Prof MM Kalburgi murder: CID probe ordered]
Shetty had claimed that he is the co-convenor of the Bajrang Dal. His tweet had led to a debate on the social media and several had even taken a screenshot of what he had posted.

The case relating to the murder of Professor Kalburgi will now be probed by the CID. The police in Buntwal led by ACP Rahul Kumar who arrested Shetty will now question him seeking answers of why such a tweet was posted.
They will even ask him if he knew anything about the murder which took place yesterday.
A team of top officials are camping in Dharwad to oversee the investigation.
The probe would continue until the CID formally takes over the probe. The CID is expected to take over the probe in another week's time.
