Bengaluru, Sept 1: In a major breakthrough the CID have found vital clues through the CCTV footage in connection with the Professor M M Kalburgi case.
In the CCTV footage it is seen that two persons on a motor cycle after murdering the professor had sped away not before signalling to two people who were waiting in a car outside.
The CID says that the footage suggests that the two persons on the bike appearing to be signalling that the job has been done.
The CCTV footage is extremely crucial and it points to the fact that there were more than two persons at the spot.
The culprits may have fled the state and the CID which has formed four teams is also searching in Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
The CID has also managed to get the vehicle number on the basis of the CCTV footage.
Professor M M Kalburgi was murdered at his residence in Dharwad on Sunday, Aug 30.
He was a controversial Kannada scholar whose remarks had angered a certain section of people.
The police suspect that it may be the same section of people who could be behind the murder.
