Recently, the actor had commented about Mahabharata, the ancient Hindu epic, during an interview.
"In Mahabharata, Panchali was used as a pawn while the men gambled. She was used as a collateral and India is a country that respects and honours a book that revolves around men using a woman to gamble away as if she was a mere object," the 62-year-old actor said.
The National Award winner is yet to comment on the controversy. Meanwhile, his elder brother Chandrahasan had passed away recently. "Fate, if that's what you call it, is certainly giving me a lot of attention," said Haasan mirthlessly, hours after his eldest brother Chandrahasan passed away.
