Priyanka likely to be made Congress General Secretary: Reports
New Delhi, March 1: In a move that can boost the morale of Congress' cadre, Priyanka Gandhi might be chosen as the party's General Secretary on Monday, media reports said.
According to reports, party vice president Rahul Gandhi has been trying to give his sister an important role within the party.
ABP News reported that Rahul is making efforts to make Priyanka an integral part of the party from last three months and his efforts are taken into consideration by senior party leaders.
The development comes amidst controversy over Rahul's sabbatical during the on-going Budget Session.
Earlier on Sunday, senior Congress leader AK Antony said that pary vice president Rahul Gandhi, who has taken a break from parliament, will return "stronger and more energetic".
The former defence minister defended the Gandhi scion's move which has drawn flak from many quarters.
