New Delhi, Sept 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will connect with people via a radio programme that will be held on October 3 on the Vijaya Dashmi day.

"Received many ideas and suggestions for my forthcoming radio programme. Have decided to hold the first programme on 3rd October at 11:00 AM," Modi said in a post on social networking site 'twitter'.

In another tweet in Hindi, Modi said "3 October ko aap sabhi se radio par kuch man ki baatein karunga" (On 3rd October, I will share some of my thoughts with all of you).

The programme is expected to be broadcast by All India Radio.

The radio programme comes days after the Prime Minister's address on the Teacher's day was telecast across the country. On September 17, after two busy and eventful days in Gujarat, the Prime Minister had spent over an hour personally replying to people who greeted him on his birthday.

The Prime Minister is also expected to share his thoughts on a variety of issues during the upcoming radio programme. "A separate Open Forum has been created on MyGov for citizens to share their comments for the forthcoming radio programme:

"Citizens should share ideas and best practices on development, good governance and other issues. The Prime Minister would refer to the Open Forum before the programme and may even refer to some of the points made on the Forum," the statement added.

On September 6, 2014 the Prime Minister had talked about connecting with people through radio and sought ideas. Officials said the Prime Minister's speech on September 25 at the programme to launch the ambitious 'Make-in-India' campaign will also be widely watched.

Doordarshan has made special arrangements to ensure that the Prime Minister's speech on September 25 is telecast on its DD-News and DD-National channels as well as on DD-India which reaches audiences across several countries, accompanied with English translation.

Officials said Indian embassies have also been asked to make arrangements so that the speech is heard in countries abroad.
