New Delhi, Dec 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended his wishes to Tamil superstar Rajinikanth on his 64th birthday.
"On his birthday, I extend greetings to the legendary Rajinikanth ji. May he remain in the best of health and have a long life," tweeted Prime Minister Modi on Friday morning.
The megastar, who turned 64 on Friday, will be seen in his new film ‘Lingaa', which was released in Tamil and Hindi on Friday.
Born as Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, Rajnikanth, started his career with plays. He has also worked as bus conductor in the Bangalore Transport Service.
Rajinikanth joined the Madras Film Institute in 1973 to pursue a diploma in acting. He made his debut with K Balachander's National Award winning film Apoorva Raagangal (1975).
Last month, the Tamil superstar had hinted that he may enter politics.
"I am not afraid of politics, but hesitant... I have been moving in the direction shown by God. If he desires that I should come to politics, I will serve the people," the actor said at the launch of the audio and trailer of his new movie ‘Lingaa'.
