Physically handicapped man treks Thirumala for a girl child
Tirupati, Feb 9: Narendra Modi's Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao mission could not have gotten a better response. 38 year old K Vijay, a farmer from Paitaveta village of Rayadurgam taluk in Anantapur, is physically handicapped, but has a mind and a heart that is incomparable to anyone in many ways.
He walked all the way to the Tirumala temple for having been blessed with a girl child. On his previous visit in January, he had vowed that he would undertake a walkathon to the sacred town if he was blessed with a girl child.
Incidentally, his prayers came true when his wife gave birth to a girl child on Jan 5. Following this, he embarked on the long, winding trek through the hilly terrains to fulfil his vow with his friend Thippaya Swamy.
This, after he already has a 2 year old son Lohith.
