Patients' woes continues as doctors refuse to relent
There have been at least five attacks on resident doctors in the last one week by the disgruntled relatives of the patients.
Medical services continued to remain disrupted in Maharashtra even after the Bombay High Court ordered resident doctors to call off the strike. The high court on Thursday ordered Maharashtra government to provide security to the doctors, who are protesting against recent assaults on their colleagues by patients' relatives.
Maharashtra Resident Doctors Association has said that it is waiting for the written order by the court, following which they will hold a meeting to take the final call on strike.
The MARD had earlier said that they would resume work provided they are given surety of security from the state government.
Amid all this, it was the patients who had to suffer because of long queues at the government hospitals across Maharashtra.
