Party will forgive OPS if he apologises: AIADMK MLA
The AIADMK’s party’s district secretary Thanga Tamilselvan was speaking at a party meet in Bodimettu which was boycotted by several Panneerselvam supports
Is the AIADMK warming up to former Tamil Nadu chief minister O Panneerselvam or using his name to calm the anger against MLAs down? Whatever the reason, party's district secretary Thanga Tamilselvan on Tuesday said that the party will forgive Panneerselvam if he apologises for rebelling. The AIADMK leader was speaking at a party meet in Bodimettu which was boycotted by several members who support Panneerselvam.
"If Panneerselvam tendered an apology, the AIADMK would forgive him. The party cadre is not against him, but his activities were against the unity of the party. Pannerselvam was made chief minister thrice, twice by Jayalalithaa and the third time by Sasikala," said Thanga.
The poor turnout was indicative of party cadres' support to Panneerselvam camp of the AIADMK and the same seems to have prompted Tamilselvan's statements. He added that no one, including Panneerselvam will be allowed to divide the party or destroy it. While Tamilselvam invoked the AIADMK while making his statement, it is to be seen how many within the Sasikala camp of the party will accept his stand.
MLAs R Kathirkamu and STK Jakkaiyan also participated in the meeting, their very first public outing after returning from the luxury resort. Tight security was provided to all the three MLAs.
