Kunal Ghosh further revealed that some chit fund companies are still collecting money from the public. He also said that some of these companies were also sponsoring an event whose chairman is the industries minister Partha Chatterjee. Ghosh wanted to submit the paper from which he was reading out the allegations in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Arvind Mishra, but the later refused to accept it.
Ghosh had earlier created a stir when he said that chief minister Mamata Banerjee be also interviewed by the CBI, apart from himself and Sudipta Sen.
On being produced in front of the court, Kunal Ghosh said that he wanted to say something but the court refused saying that he had already given the power of speech to his counsel on his behalf and he could not speak unless that was withdrawn. Ghosh immediately withdrew the power from his counsel.
Following this, he requested for either bail or CBI custody to assist the agency in its Saradha chit fund scam probe. Metropolitan magistrate Arvind Mishra rejected his prayers and remanded Ghosh to judicial custody till September 18, as prayed for by CBI.
