"GST ke liye raat 12 baje Parliament khola jaata hai, lekin kisaano ke liye ek min baat nahi karne dete (Parliament functions even at 12 in the midnight for the GST, but they (ruling party) do not us speak about the farmers for even a minute)," he said at 'Kisan Aakrosh Rally' at Banswara in Rajasthan.

Rahul said the BJP waived-off farmer loans in Uttar Pradesh after the Congress did so in Punjab and Karnataka. He said the Congress would put pressure on the government to waive-off loans even in Rajasthan.

The Congress vice-president attemped to corner the BJP over the agrarian crisis in Rajasthan.

"Today in Lok Sabha we wanted to speak on farmers issues, even the Prime Minister was present, but we were not allowed to speak," he added.

He also slammed the government over the GST implementation, saying big traders have no issues with it.

"Big traders have no issues with this GST, they can employ 10 accountants and fill as many forms. It is the small traders who are suffering," he said.

"We had suggested to the Govt to not pass GST in a hurry but they did not listen," the Congress vice-president added.

Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot reached Banswara on Monday to oversee the arrangements for the rally. He also met the office-bearers of the party's state unit.

According to Congress leaders, Rajasthan, with 40 lakh farmers burdened with loans, ranked third in this regard among all the states in the country. As per their estimate, around 4.68 crore farmers were burdened with loans across the country, with Uttar Pradesh topping the list, followed by Maharashtra.
