Kanpur, Feb 18: Days after BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj made controversial comment that Hindu mothers should produce at least four children, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday said that our mothers are not factories and giving birth to a child is an individual choice.
"Hamaari maatayen factory nahin hain, bachcha paida karna vyaktigat nirnay hai," the RSS chief said.
Bhagwat who was speaking to Sangh Parivar delegates in Kanpur, also said that one should think carefully before making such statements.
While addressing a gathering in Meerut on Tuesday, Jan 6, Maharaj had said the concept of four wives and 40 children will not work in India and the time has come when a "Hindu woman must produce at least four children" in order to protect Hindu religion.
He said that out of four children, one should join armed forces, one should be put in company of saintly men and two should take care of family.
