Operation clean up 2.0: Army to wipe out terrorists in North Kashmir

The Indian Army which is carrying out a successful clean up of terrorists in Kashmir has decided to go ahead with version 2 of Operation Clean up. Terrorists were swarming like bees in South Kashmir had gradually decided to move towards the North of the state.

The presence of terrorists in North is not much, but the Army wants to clean up the mess or nip it in the bud immediately. For long the problem of terrorism was ignored in the southern part of the state. For the Army it was a huge task to clean up the mess as there were over 200 terrorists in this part of the state.

Terrorist groups have for long not focused on northern operations. However with the Army going on the offensive in South, terrorists since the past few months had indicated that they would shift focus to North.

We do not want to be complacent. We want to finish the menace before it becomes too big to control said an officer part of the operation. This is a ploy by the terrorists to try and shift focus so that they get a breather in South, the officer added.

However the Indian Army would not let the focus shift. Instead more men will be brought in and the problem will be eradicated simultaneously in the North and South of Kashmir, the officer also added.

Meanwhile the terrorists too are on a recruiting spree. The Lashkar-e-Tayiba and Hizbul Mujahideen have lost heavily in the past few months. In the past year itself 258 terrorists have been recruited by both outfits. The Lashkar alone has 139 terrorists of which 30 are locals.
