NSUI protests outside Rajnath's residence: Cops detain student leader
New Delhi, Jan 1: Police lathicharged against the members of National Students Union of India, a Youth Congress wing, who were protesting against the BJP leader Rajnath Singh's residence in Delhi on Wednesday. A student leader was detained by the police, reported sources. 

The protest was in response to the BJP attack on Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh. The BJP had accused the HP Congress government of corruption. There is corruption within BJP itself, alleged the NSUI leaders. 

The BJP on Wednesday stepped up their attack on Virbhadra Singh who is accused of extending favours to power companies in the state. "Arun Jaitley, a prominent lawyer of the country, has prepared a chargesheet with ample evidence against Virbhadra Singh", said BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday morning.

Arun Jaitley in a press meet on Tuesday said that he had written to to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and marked a copy to CBI Director Ranjit Sinha making various allegations of corruption against Virbhadra Singh, including the accusation that he received bribes of over Rs. two crore from a private steel firm during his tenure as Union Steel Minister.
