New Delhi, Sept 5: The Opposition on Thursday raised the issue of the alarming report submitted by the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) to the government about the ground situation in the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the eastern Ladakh sector. The report said that the Chinese Army was not allowing the Indian troops from patrolling the LAC and has entrenched its position.

The BJP demanded a reply from Defence Minister AK Antony on the issue. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath assured the Opposition that Antony will make a statement in the House on Friday.

The report said China was stopping the Indian troops from patrolling near LAC

Earlier, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid told reporters that he would not take a stand on the matter before going through the report submitted by NSAB chairperson Shyam Saran. Saran, however, was evasive about the report and said the board was not concerned with the operational issues.

The report was submitted last month after Saran was asked by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to oversee the border infrastructure development and situation at the LAC by visiting the Ladakh and Siachen sectors.
