New Delhi, Nov 4: A day after Shiv Kumar Yadav, the accused Uber cab driver who raped a woman in Dec 2014, was sentenced to life imprisonment till death, now app-based taxi service Ola has landed into a similar controversy.
As per an ANI report, one of Ola drivers was charged for allegedly misbehaving with a female passenger and her daughter in New Delhi.
The driver, Praveen Kumar, was booked for outraging a woman's modesty, threatening and violating a public order. He was, however, granted bail later.
Meanwhile on Wednesday, OlA Cabs Spokesperson came up with a statement and said, "We've terminated the said vehicle and driver from the Ola. We have zero tolerance for this kind of behaviour from drivers-partners registered with us."
Ola cabs assured full support to the complainant and termed the company has policy of zero tolerance in such cases.
The spokesperson further added, "We've assured full support on sharing all required info like driver details, GPS coordinates, if need be, to help her pursue this."
Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi, said all appropriate measures will be taken as per law.
