Tripura High Court Chief Justice Deepak Gupta launched the mobile court here at a function Wednesday evening under the legal service aid scheme.
He said: "The courts are equipped to receive applications relating to petty offences, grant bail and remand accused to custody, issue summons, receive police reports and pass sentences."
"With the launching of the mobile court, people in the rural areas would be able to get justice at their door steps. Besides, they would be more aware about their rights and prevailing laws," Chief Justice Gupta said.
The court can also hold "Lok Adalat" in the rural areas to resolve pending cases of diverse natures, including those of domestic affairs.
