India Shocker: Even policemen are not safe in Delhi; Now an ACP assaulted

New Delhi, Oct 16: Racial attacks on North-East youth in Bangalore and Gurgaon have become the talk of the town now. Everyone raised questions about safety and security. But when a police officer is not safe, then how can common man expect to be secured here?

Yes, now an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) -- Amit Singh has been assaulted by goons in Delhi. A group of men on Thursday, Oct 16 assaulted Amit Singh who was posted with the anti-terror unit, special cell. The incident took place near Lodhi Crematorium in south Delhi around 4:30 pm. According to sources, the ACP was heading towards special cell office located in Lodhi Colony. On his way to office, he noticed a quarrel.

He stopped and intervened as the quarrel had ensued between a biker and a car driver on the road. However, the situation went out of control as the mob went behind him.

He was assaulted with rods, stones and kicked multiple times. The police and DCP special cell reached the spot and the accused have been rounded up. Later, the ACP was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre and an FIR is being registered at Nizamuddin police station.

Earlier another a police constable was killed by a group of criminals. Constable Jagbir was killed and constable Narender sustained serious injuries after being fired upon in west Delhi's Vijay Vihar when they were on patrol duty. Constable Jagbir Singh's family will be paid Rs 1 crore as compensation.
