New Delhi, June 23: In a suspicious incident that happened at the B R Ambedkar Multi Speciality Hospital in Noida, a woman who was tested to have been carrying twins allegedly delivered just one. The incident happened on Monday after Sangeeta Devi, a resident of Noida, delivered a baby girl. Her family protested that the USG reports suggested that she was carrying twins.

In fact, the report said: "No. of foetus- Twin live". The second report said, "The real time obstetric sonography reveals twins live intrauterine 33 weeks 33 weeks pregnancy."

The relatives said that during the initial hours of delivery, they were informed that Sangeeta had delivered twins. But there were three power cuts within a span of five minutes, after which her aunt went to visit her. She was handed a baby girl.

Meanwhile, the hospital authorities say that there is a possibility of "human error" in the USG report and the same will be investigated.

"It is possible that there was an error in the report. However, the woman gave birth to a single child only and there is no possibility of the child vanishing from the hospital. The placenta of the woman has been preserved and it will establish the number of foetus," said a statement by the authorities.

The family said that they have approached the police, but no action has been taken yet.
