No change in Delhi, Nigerian's rape bring out the real face of the capital
New Delhi, Feb 21:A 35-year old Nigerian woman was gangraped by four unknown people in a moving car in Delhi yesterday evening. After the misdeed, the men allegedly left her unconscious at the DND toll plaza near Mayur Vihar in east Delhi at 2:45 am on Friday.
The toll plaza staff informed the police. Following which, a CCTV footage was retrieved that showed that she was dropped by four men driving a Hyundai Accent car.
As per the police, the woman was picked up by four men outside a mall in South Delhi and driven around in their car for at least 30 minutes beforre dropping her at the toll plaza. The men were allegedly between the age of 22-25 years.
Police have arrested the four men and confiscated their car. In December 2012, a medical student was gangraped that triggered off speculations regarding the safety of women in the city. In a similar manner, a driver of a well-known taxi service gangraped a finance professional while driving her home from dinner.
According to police files, there has been a jump of 31% in crimes against women as compared to the previous year.
