When he sat in his car on Monday morning, it had a red beacon but by evening, Karnataka Chief minister Siddaramaiah lost his cool after he realised that the red beacon had been removed.

While the media in Karnataka was hailing Siddaramaiah for removing the red beacon from his vehicle on Monday, it came as a disappointment that he had no role to play in it. In fact, when reporters asked the Chief Minister if removing the red beacon meant that he supported the centre's order, he was taken aback. He looked back at his car and found the red beacon missing.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had no clue that the red beacon from his car had been removed following the union government's order to curb VIP culture. Siddaramaiah visited the freedom park in Bengaluru on Monday when he noticed that the red beacon was missing from his car. The Chief Minister without acknowledging that the central government had banned the beacon, lashed out at his staff for removing it without his knowledge.

Following the centre's order to remove red beacon from all official vehicles, his security staff got rid of it but it angered Siddaramaiah who asked his staff to reinstate the red beacon. When questioned by the media, the Chief Minister said he had no knowledge of any such ban on red beacons. Siddaramaiah had earlier been criticised for his convoy causing traffic snarls in the city of Bengaluru.
