Govt jobs: What is Mamata's announcement
Kolkata, Nov 7: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that applicants will not be required to have their documents attested Dec 1 onwards for most official government work. They will be considered eligible for self-attestation.

"Today, our cabinet has decided that from Dec 1, 2014, attestation and affidavit in most government work will not be required. Applicants will themselves be competent to self-attest, unless there is a specific legal requirement," Banerjee said on her official Facebook page.

Earlier, brushing aside allegation by the Opposition that she was not regular in the Assembly, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said she always tries to remain in the House when required.
