No alliance with BJP, clarifies DMK

DMK rules out aligning with BJP
Chennai, Dec 20: DMK party chief M Karunanidhi on Friday clarified that his party would contest the Lok Sabha polls with existing partners in the alliance and dismissed the media reports that DMK will align with BJP.

At a public meeting here, Stalin said some journalists reported facts far from DMK's official stand in the party General Council meeting on forming alliances. karunanidhi said "The press should not twist facts to their fancy. This is not only regrettable but condemnable."

"We already have some alliance parties. We will contest the polls with them - Muslim League, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, Manidhaneya Makkal Katchi and Puthiya Thamizhagam," said Karunanidhi.

To a query on whether actor-turned politician Vijayakant's DMDK would be there in his alliance, he said "Not known as yet."

Karunanidhi, on Thursday, in an exclusive interview with TOI, had praised Modi's capabilities as an administrator. The BJP welcomes Karunanidhi's comments on Modi, but ruled out aligning with DMK.
