On Tuesday, the NIA sleuths searched the house of Sahanur Alom alias Doctor, an absconding accused in the Burdwan blast case, at Chatala in Barpeta district of Assam.
A seven-member NIA team from Guwahati seized some material after a 6-hour-long search of the house yesterday, he said.
"We seized whatever was found in two cartons. The investigation is on. We'll analyse it in our Guwahati office. We cannot say anything at present," he said. The seized articles included some documents, Arabian coins, bank passbooks and money collection receipt books of Talimul Madrassa of West Bengal, he said.
Alom is absconding and NIA has recently declared Rs 5 lakh reward for anyone giving information leading to his arrest. The key accused of the October-2 blast that left two dead gave a slip to the West Bengal Police as well as the NIA and is believed to have fled to Bangladesh.
