New Delhi, Jan 3: The National Investigatig Agency will probe the Pathankot terror attack. The NIA team which was at Pathankot yesterday will commence its probe into the attack immediately and will also seek assistance from the Punjab police and the Central Intelligence Bureau.
It was decided that the NIA would be the best agency to probe the case as it is already probing into the Udhampur terror attack which bear similarties to the Pathankot strike.
The NIA has its task cut out and its probe would focus on the route taken by the terrorists and also trace their origins with the help of DNA sampling.
An official with the NIA said that they would also seek the details from the Punjab police which is probing into the Gurdaspur attack. One must however note that the probe into the Gurdaspur attack at Punjab has not yeilded any concrete results and the police officials are still not sure about the exact route taken by the terrorists before they infiltated into Punjab.
The officer also informed that they would be questioning Mohammad Naved the terrorist caught alive during the Udhampur attack. He will be able to give us some information as he too was launched into India from Bhawalpur, Pakistan as we witnessed in the Pathankot attack.
The NIA team would also question some of the spies that the Delhi police have arrested in connection with providing crucial information about India's military installations.
