Newborn dies at PHC in Saharanpur (UP), kin protest
Saharanpur, April 15: A newborn on Friday, April 15 died at a primary health centre (PHC) here due to alleged negligence of a staff nurse, police said.
The family members alleged the staff nurse did not admit the woman for over one-and-half hours and she delivered the baby girl on a slab outside the clinic who died soon. Even as they protested at the clinic, the PHC said the infant was stillborn.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Jagdish Sharma said the Badshahibag-resident woman was brought to the PHC by a 102 ambulance service in labour pains this morning. He said a probe is on in the matter.
