Delhi: Children's film festival to promote cleanliness

New Delhi, Nov 8: In sync with the current 'cleanliness' mood in the country, cleanliness will be the theme of the National Children's festival this time that is to be held between November 14 and 16 at the Siri Fort Stadium.

Throwing further light on the details, Information and Broadcasting minister Prakash Javadekar said that tennis player Sania Mirza will be the chief guest at the event. He further added that during the 3-day film festival, an estimated 5000 students will participate everyday.

The opening film of the festival will be 'Pappu Ki Pagdandi'. Javadekar said,"The theme of this festival is cleanliness. Kendriya Vidyalaya students and those from other schools will come for it. The opening event will be presented by Shiamak Davar and artists associated with him."

Among the other programs during the film festival, Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune will hold a cinematography workshop for the students who will take part in the festival. There will also be a puppetry and animation, apart from another workshop on 'best out of waste'.

The minister also said that there will be exhibitions and other events from November 14. In fact, a cleanliness campaign will also be underway in schools.
