Khattar likely to be named Haryana CM as BJP legislators meet

New BJP legislators in Haryana meet
Chandigarh, Oct 21:  Having got a majority on its own for the first time in Haryana, the BJP legislative party meeting to elect the new chief minister started here on Tuesday.

The BJP parliamentary board has deputed union Minister Venkaiah Naidu and senior leader Dinesh Sharma as observers for the meeting here.

All newly-elected 47 BJP legislators, the central observers and other senior Haryana BJP leaders are attending the meeting.

RSS man Manohar Lal Khattar is the frontrunner for the chief minister's post in Haryana. Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu arrived here today to meet the newly elected MLAs. 

Among Khattar others who are in the race for the CM post are state BJP chief Rambilas Sharma, party spokesman Captain Abhimanyu, party's Kisan cell president Om Parkash Dhankar and also Vij.
