New Delhi, July 19: After Navjot Singh Sidhu who resigned from BJP and Rajya Sabha on Monday, here is yet another setback for BJP. According to a media report, suspended BJP MP Kirti Azad's wife is likely to join AAP.
When asked about the same, Azad who was suspended last year for anti-party activities said, "My wife's decision to join AAP is her personal decision".
Sources say that AAP will hold press conference in couple of days and it will announce joining of Azad's wife Poonam Jha and Navjot Singh Sidhu to party's fold.
In December last year, BJP had suspended Kirti Azad after his allegations of corruption in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) at a time finance minister Arun Jaitley headed the body.
While holding a press conference , Azad alleged irregularities and mismanagement in the DDCA during Arun Jaitley's term between 1999 and 2013.
Even though Azad did not name the finance minister, his allegations pointed towards Jaitley's involvement.
In 2013 too, Azad, along with former cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi, had demanded Jaitley's resignation as DDCA's president due to his "incapability and incompetence in handling the affairs of DDCA" and for "ruining Delhi's cricket".
