New Delhi, Nov 16: Addressing a gamut of news agencies on the occasion of the National Press Day, Narendra Modi was vocal about his dream of an ideal media for a better nation.

Speaking of media's role in building awareness among the people, Modi hoped that mass media will fulfill its promise of a better society by highlighting the best in it.

"Whatever is on screen is not the whole reality. Think out of the box. Show what is good too. People should know that India has a brighter side too. Only that can help change people's views about their own country. They will learn to love their country."

Encouraging media on its role in the cleanliness drive, Modi said, "Media has played a very good role in furthering the message of cleanliness."

PM Modi will confer excellence in journalism awards, including the Raja Ram Mohan Award to veteran journalist S.Nihal Singh. M. Venkaiah Naidu and Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajayvardhan Rathore also attended the event.
