Chandigarh, Oct 26: As it was reported earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi to former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Manohar Lal Khattar's oath taking ceremony was a star studded affair on Sunday, Oct 26.

Union Minister Sushma Swaraj, Rajnath Singh, BJP President Amit Singh, veteran party leader LK Advani, for Indian Army chief VK Singh, religious leaders -- all attended Khattar's swearing-in ceremony at Panchkula amid tight security.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) formed its own government in Haryana for the first time ever since its inception in 1966. This was the first time when CM of the state took oath at a public event and not in Raj Bhavan.

In the 90-member Haryana Assembly, BJP bagged 47 seats, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won 19 seats and its ally Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) got 1, Congress won 15 seats, Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC BL) won 2 seats, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) managed 1 seat and five seats went to independent candidates.
