Government sources said the prime minister will first arrive at the Siachen Glacier to celebrate Diwali with the soldiers guarding the world's highest battlefield for the country.
The prime minister will then leave for Srinagar to meet the flood-affected people at the Raj Bhawan.
Am going to Siachen with a message from each and every Indian to our soldiers- that we stand shoulder to shoulder with you!— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) October 23, 2014
After the Siachen visit I will continue with my scheduled visit to Srinagar to spend time with those affected due to the recent floods.— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) October 23, 2014
"He will also meet delegations of local traders and members of the civil society," a source said.
"He is scheduled to visit a relief camp besides visiting places badly hit by the floods in the city," the source added.
Modi is expected to announce a special package for the victims of the floods that had ravaged the state in September. Many lives were lost and thousands were displaced due to the floods.
