New Delhi, Aug 27: In a latest twist in Narendra Modi government, Rajnath Singh reportedly complained against one BJP leader to top leaders of the party and to RSS. According to sources, the Union Home Minister asserted that a few of his party colleagues have been conspiring against him using his son's name.

Rajnath Singh was quoted as saying, "If someone raises questions about my family's integrity and honour, I'm not going to take it lying down. God will punish those who are playing this dirty game."

There were reports which claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was unhappy with Rajnath's son Pankaj. Modi was reported to have expressed his displeasure about Pankaj for his political misconduct.

However, the union home minister overruled such reports calling them mere "rumors". A report published in The Economic Times, quoted one BJP leader as saying, "false story on the home minister's son that was spread by another minister has deeply hurt Singh and after much deliberation the home minister raised the issue with the BJP and RSS chiefs."

The home minister, who earlier was the President of BJP, claimed that he would not hesitate to step down from his post if allegations against him and his family are proved.

"The day the allegations against me and my family are proven to be correct, I will resign from politics," said Rajnath while talking to TV news channel.

Meanwhile, PMO issued one official statement saying, "This has reference to reports appearing in a section of the media over the past several weeks, mentioning the Prime Minister, and referring to the conduct of some Union Ministers, and alleged misconduct of the Home Minister's son."

"The reports are plain lies, motivated and constitute a malicious attempt at character assassination and tarnishing the image of the government. Those indulging in such rumour-mongering are damaging the interest of the nation."
