Chandy meets Modi
New Delhi, June 2: With his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kerala Chief Minister was reported have disappointed Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President of the party Rahul Gandhi.

According to reports, the Gandhis were too annoyed with Chandy that they denied him permission to meet him in New Delhi on Monday, June 2. Chandy reportedly had planned to meet AK Anthony, Rahul and Sonia Gandhi before his meeting with the Prime Minister.

Media reports claimed that party high command had directed Congress chief ministers not to attend the swearing-in-ceremony of Narendra Modi. However, Mizoram CM had overruled their order and attended the ceremony in the national capital.

Now, Chandy's meeting with Modi seems to have annoyed the party high command. The Kerala CM might have thought that the leadership would be happy to meet him and would congratulate him for the party's win in Kerala. But he might not have thought, not even in his worst nightmare, that his meeting with Modi would annoy the Gandhis.

Chandy called on Modi at his South Block office and it was a "courtesy call", the Prime Minister's Office said in the statement. The meeting lasted for around 15 minutes. Reportedly, the UDF leader spoke to Modi regarding the implementation of Western Ghats report. The committee report should not be implemented, taking into consideration the concerns of the people living in high range areas, said Chandy.
