Miracle: Narendra Modi impresses Pakistan even before becoming PM
Praising Modi's statement against his own party leader Giriraj Singh, Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit on Wednesday, April 23 said that he felt "encouraged" by the statements of the BJP strongman on television.
During a press conference, Basit showered his praises on Modi when he was asked how he felt about the statements made by BJP leader Giriraj Singh. The controversial BJP leader from Chhattisgarh said that all those who were opposed to Modi must leave the country and go to Pakistan.

The prime ministerial candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), however, lashed out at Singh and 'well-wishers" of the party by tweeting, "I disapprove any such irresponsible statement & appeal to those making them to kindly refrain from doing so. Petty statements by those claiming to be BJP's well-wishers are deviating the campaign from the issues of development & good governance (sic)."
Speaking about Modi, Basit said, "Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has asked me to explore new possibilities in Indo-Pak ties. Diplomacy and wars have both failed between India and Pakistan. We are said that in 67 years, we have added to, and not resolved, our issues."
Continuing his statement, Basit added, "We are looking forward to work with the new government in India. Pakistan desires a stable government in India with which we can engage."
