Mysuru: Wadiyars adopt its heir Yaduveer Raj Urs in a royal way
Mysuru, Feb 23: Yaduveer Gopal Raj Urs has been adopted as the heir to Wadiyar formally on Monday, Feb 23. Wadiyar is the erstwhile rulers of Mysuru, Karnataka.
Yaduveer is pursuing hi BA in Boston, USA. He is the grandson of Princess Gayathri Devi who is the eldest daughter of the last Maharaja of Mysuru Sri Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar.
It was an hour long ceremony in Mysuru. Along with his parents -- Tripura Sundari Devi and Swarup Anand Gopal Raj Urs, Yaduveer in the Kalyana Mantapa of the Palace by 1:15 pm.
Clad in a golden-coloured sherwani and sporting a red coloured turban and a necklace in line with the royal traditions, Yaduveer impressed everyone.
A team of priests solemnised the adoption rituals by Indrakshi Devi, sister of late Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar and monitored by Pramoda Devi Wadiyar.
The adoption ceremony was a private affair and family members and friends of the royal family attended the ceremony.
