Birthday boy Mulayam turns 75; to cut 75-foot cake, enjoy Victoria 'buggy' ride from London

Lucknow, Nov 21: SP's birthday boy Mulayam Singh Yadav is likely to have a gala time today as he turns 75. Before he cuts the 75-foot cake, he will enjoy a royal ride around Rampur in a specially-fitted Victoria buggy imported from London.

Organised by SP's senior leader Azam Khan, the party will take place after the SP chief landed in Rampur with his entire family on Friday afternoon. After the buggy ride for a couple of hours, Mulayam will be allowed to rest and gear up for the evening's cultural program at Jauhar University, where artistes like Hans Raj Hans and the Sabri Brothers will perform. Mulayam is likely to give his partymen company till late night as he will cut the 75-foot U-shaped birthday cake. Khan said,"After the cake-cutting, Netaji will call it a day. On his birthday morning, he will proceed for other programmes."

Accompanied by Azam Khan's family and the Yadav family, Mulayam will head to the Jauhar University stadium to inaugurate its medical college on Saturday afternoon. That is where he will deliver his birthday speech.

Other SP leaders and partymen have grander and greater plans on Mulayam's birthday. In Dhaurahra's Mohhamadi area, SP's Anand Bhadauria plans to cut a 75 kilo laddoo to mark the socialist's birthday. Cultural events will also be organised in his constituency. Festivities are planned in the state capital as well. A large number of party workers have pledged to distribute sweets and organize blood donation camps.
